What Ubud lacks in beachfront, it certainly makes up for in swimming pools. Whether you feel like having a workout followed by a dip, or having a lazy day of cocktails with a jungle view: our guide to Ubud pools has got you covered.
Folk Cafe
You’ll never have so many pool seating options as you do at Folk!
Choose between a daybed, pergola, teepee, poolside chair, sun lounger or a set in the restaurant, then book your spot. Folk is smack bang in the centre of Ubud on Monkey Forest Road, so it’s a great option if you don’t want to travel far.
Swasti Eco Cottages
You’ll find the Swasti Eco Cottages just south of Ubud. If sustainability and laid-back vibes are what you’re after this place will fit the bill. This facility operates in an environmentally friendly manner, and although it’s a hotel, outside guests are welcome to come to use the pool for a day (a small fee applies which is redeemable on food from their organic, mostly vegetarian cafe).
Jungle Fish
Located just outside of Ubud overlooking a lush jungle gorge, Jungle Fish is a perfect way to while away a sunny day. There are ample seating options (try to find a spot on the upper level since the lower beds are prone to getting splashes from the pool above). They don’t take bookings for outside guests, so showing up after breakfast will ensure you get a place. The spicy mango margarita is highly recommended, and the poolside food is excellent.
Titi Batu
One of Ubud’s newest offerings, this sports facility offers a relaxed day pool to sip drinks next to, or a lap pool (adults only) if working off brunch is the name of the game. To us, attending a class in their fitness studio, then rewarding ourselves with a day by the pool sounds just about perfect.
Om Ham
A frequent favourite for retreats, this is another venue offering more of an oasis than a party. Although it may seem a given, rice paddy pool views are actually a rarity with our Ubud pool day picks, so that makes Om Ham even more special. Outside guests are welcome to use the pool for the day with a small minimum spend; however, they ask noise levels to be kept to a minimum so as not to disturb any of their retreat guests (which sounds even more heavenly to us).
