A Dutch tourist was killed in a horrific crash with a truck in Bali on Tuesday morning.

The 21-year-old man, identified as RJ, was riding a motorbike on Bypass Ngurah Rai Road in Pemogan, Denpasar, when he collided with a large truck carrying concrete.

The impact of the crash was so severe that RJ’s head was severed from his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver, 25-year-old Muchammad Fatkhurrozi, was not injured.

Police said RJ was driving without a license or registration when the crash occurred, and that he was “not careful” as he failed to maintain a safe distance from the truck.

The crash happened at around 5am. RJ was traveling east when the truck, which was turning left onto Griya Anyar Road, pulled in front of him.

The motorbike hit the truck’s side and RJ was thrown from his vehicle. He landed on the road and his head was severed from his body.

Residents who witnessed the crash called the police. RJ’s body was covered with banana leaves while they waited for authorities to arrive. Police are still investigating the crash.

The crash is a reminder of the dangers of driving in Bali. Traffic can be chaotic, and it is important to be aware of your surroundings at all times.
